چکیده

Abstract Objectives To assess the correlations between flaccid penile colour-Doppler ultrasound (fPCDU) parameters, carotid (CCDU) parameters and history of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in men with erectile dysfunction (ED). Methods A consecutive series 269 (55.3±11.6 years) complaining ED were evaluated fPCDU (assessing cavernosal artery peak systolic velocity [CAPSV] acceleration [CAA]) CCDU (evaluating intima-media thickness [IMT], presence atherosclerotic plaques [AP] at origin internal [ICA], ratio ICA-PSV common artery-PSV [ICA/CCA-PSV ratio], latter widely used to extimate hemodynamic abnormalities ICA level). In addition, MACE patients was collected. Results At fPCDU, mean CAPSV 13.9±4.2 cm/s, CAA 1.92±0.66 m/s2. CCDU, IMT 0.8±0.3 37% had ICA-AP median ICA/CCA-PSV 0.7 [0.6-0.8]. Overall, 7.9% a (3.7% acute myocardial infarction, 2.4% NSTEMI, 0.7% stroke, 1.1% peripheral arterial thrombosis). positively associated (p<0.0001). (p<0.001). Both negatively ratio, respectively (all p < 0.001). Men showed lower than those without (both <0.001). p<0.05), but no difference IMT, or compared without. Al data confirmed after adjusting for age. Conclusions Although blood flow are associated, subjects show worse not history. Hence, represent better marker systemic status respect CCDU. Conflicts Interest No

Role of Ultrasound and Colour Doppler in Scrotal Pain

100 patients coming to JSS with scrotal pain between November 2011 and August 2014 were studied. Each patient was examined in multiple planes using 7.5MHz-10MHz variable frequencies with colour and pulse Doppler 5MHz frequency probe was used in a few cases who had large scrotal mass. Most of the patients in our study belong to age group between 20-40 years (68%).In our study, Inflammatory condi...

Evaluation of Rheumatoid Arthritis using Thermography and Colour Doppler Ultrasound

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a common systemic autoimmune disease characterised by chronic inflammation of several joints. The main symptoms are morning stiffness, joint swelling, inflammation, neovascularisation and synovial hyperplasia. Early detection helps to minimise disease progression, however, there is no single test for the diagnosis for RA. A series of test, namely, radiography, subje...

Ultrasound and colour Doppler sonography in acute osteomyelitis in children.

Early diagnosis of osteomyelitis is of paramount importance to avoid irreversible sequelae. This often requires a multimodal approach. The purpose of the present study was primarily to evaluate how ultrasound might be useful in early diagnosis of osteomyelitis in the paediatric age group. The evolution of ultrasound findings with progression and resolution of disease was also analysed. In this ...
